Know what part of the ladder you are at and play accordingly; don't make any plays in low ladder, just treat your opponents like they're kids that don't know what they're doing. Double switches ruin mid ladder players no matter how obvious they are because they arent good enough to process them.
Unless you're a master teambuilder, stick to using tested teams and don't just hop in with your own shit and expect to not just instalose to some matchups.
Know when to quit. Tilt can really mess up your elo if you don't know when to call it a night. It really isn't that hard, you'll get it eventually.
