People like to have HA Lugias over Pressure. So buy Crystal. The only thing Crystal lacks from HGSS is post game things. (Though it started all that with the very first Battle Tower.)

HG/SS are hard to get and not cheap so it's not that easy.

If you dont want to spend time looking for a cheap original just get crystal, if you dont care if its gen 2 or 4.
