Look at this piece of shit design. I'm not even one of those people who pick female protags even though I'm male but I had to for USUM because the male protag looks like someone I'd punch in the face. I hate the USUM male protag so much. Same goes for SuMo male protag.

The protag design for XY was so good how did they fuck it up so badly?

It wasn't good. The X/Y ones are the most basic bitch designs in the series to date to emphasise trainer customisation. He's wearing a plain tracksuit with an unbranded cap ffs.

Jesus Christ you might as well have called this the Gen VII hate thread. I didn't say anything about the quality of customisation; it's irrelevant to the discussion of their base designs.

My point is that the Gen VI designs were made deliberately made plain to encourage you to customise them, more so than any other Gen. They don't even have the usual spattering of pokeball designs on them.

I said Calem and Serena were intentionally given the most plain designs because their gen introduced customisation. IE; to encourage players to use the feature. Someone then tried to say the X/Y customisation options are the best but that is irrelevant.

The fact that the games introduced trainer customisation IS a factor in their basic designs; the quality of the options available is NOT because those items aren't part of their artwork designs.
