You can literally get a Nidoking before Misty without losing anything, as the only things Nidorino will learn are Focus Energy (which is worth jackshit in G1), Fury Attack (not worth it), Horn Drill (TM) and either Double Kick (in RB, way too late) or Poison Sting (in Yellow, trash BP)
