When is gamfreak going to do something with Dragonite? Ever since salamence got introduced its basically been in the shadows. Didn’t get a mega evolution like Garchomp, salamence, Tyranitar, metagross, etc.. Didn’t get an exclusive Z move.. When are they going to bring the original Dragon threat back from the depths of obscurity?

It had a nice little run in Gen V with the addition of Multiscale. It's still OU right now, and has a nice spot in the game. I dont think a major buff is needed.

Honestly Dragonite should have been given an Alolan form. It is a Gen I Pokemon, and one of the most popular ones at that. Stuff like Golem and Exeggutor got Alolan forms. Why the fuck didn't Dragonite get one?

I would have wanted Dragon/Fairy or Dragon/Water Alolan Dragonite, dammit.

honestly mega-Beedrill is the pinnacle of mega design: a significant power boost to make an otherwise weak and forgettable pokemon useful

But really what's the point in giving pseudo's megas, either they're worse than the baseline form or they're so much stronger it breaks anything resembling game balance in half

Dragonite has been getting love for nearly 20 years. Serperior or Hydreigon or Vanilluxe all deserved a Mega or Alolan even more than the overrated genwun trash, and threads like this demonstrate the mindset that only encourages gamefreak to keep shilling their dusty old garbage. All the games after Gen 5 were shit for a reason.

Tyranitars mega is the pinnacle of what you should do if you were to give a strong pokemon a mega.

Its just as good as tyranitar but doesn't out class it.

Unlike half the megas given to viable pokes.
