This. Thank god someone has finally said it.

The only Pokémon that I look that they fit correctly are antique Pokémon for Robin, Probopass for Nami because it has a real utility and maybe some ghost for Brook because they would be dead and there are canonically deceased trainers living with ghosts in Pokémon World.

Don't try to find lazy excuses. Pic says literally "monkey", so the reason to put it in MONKEY D. Luffy's team is just because it is a MONKEY.

It's obvious that Infernape makes sense if you think about it for more than two seconds. Shit on the rest of OPs reasoning all you want, but Infernape is the perfect mon for Luffy.
