Red and Blue Remake for Switch to conclude Gen 8,
(17 years after FRLG, 11 years after last kanto set game HGSS)

2 remakes in one gen instead of the usual enhanced version, which I think will happen again in the next system, where the remake is Black and White, followed by Black and White 2 shortly after

Nintendo will not pressure them to release anything

The Switch is doing 100 times better than the Wii U did, and back then they delayed and pushed back Breath of the Wild so many times it got a new date every year, And then it was finished, and they sat on it for another year to port it over to the Switch when it could have easily given the Wii U a much much needed bump
Now they have an actual success under their belt, with Metroid and a possible 2018 Smash to keep themselves fed

Plus we know from the Gameinformer interviews that Ninendo allows GF practically free reign to do whatever they want, and they even straight go the opposite way with them sometimes like ignoring their suggestions to incorporate more Touchscreen in DP, or wanting to see if the Switch will actually be successful

I'm not saying this means the game comes out in 2018 or 2019, but Big daddy Nintendo pressuring them to rush the game out is not happening, they'll release whenever GameFreak feels like

Sorry dude, you're operating on wrong information, before the Switch launched, Nintendo weren't altogether too sure that it would be a success, I'm certain when they delivered GF's Switch dev kit back in 2015, they impressed the point to head management that to give the Switch every chance of being successful, they wanted Pokémon out on it as soon as possible. 9 months success will not make one blind bit of difference to the games' production time, as its already been mapped out assuming the Switch wouldn't have gone stratospheric in popularity.

They started working on it way before USUM. USUM was made by the B team so the main dev team could work on the Switch titles.

Referencing gen 1 in the games all the time doesn't mean they're going to remake the same damn game again. You people really overestimate how much they want to "shill" gen 1.

Thinking gen 8 is 2018 however is on another level of retard, there is no way that's enough time to make the game as every other gen is minimum 3 years.

You realize that the switch games were in development before USUM, right? I mean I thought it was fairly obvious at this point. Fuck, the switch dev kits leaked back in 2015, which matches up perfectly with the job listings ending this year. Hell even if the new gen wasn't developed that long, there's still plenty of evidence suggesting a 2018 release anyways. Can't wait till your blown the fuck out in the next few months.

Before USUM, but not before SM. If you think the Switch game was in development before SM then you are clueless, new gens get all of GF's main resources before moving on to the next main game. Combined with the fact that GF never adopts new hardware immediately, and they had an obviously premature "announcement" of the game this year, it's actually ridiculous to think 2018 is even possible.
