no because the entire point of if it even existing is to have a pokemon with huge stats offset by a shit ability.

If you want a more traditional Pokemon use something else.

Just make Truant RNG. % of activating every other turn based on HP. e.g. At 100% HP Truant will never activate, at 50% HP Truant has a 50% chance of activating, and so on.

I've got a team of six Slakings on smogon. Giga impact+normal gem on each one. Win easily 80% of the time even against all legendary teams.

Make Truant (and slow start, for that matter) able to be replaced or negated. That would at least be fucking something.

"Strong pokemon offset by shit ability" sounds like a novel idea on paper but in excecution you just end up with a decent pokemon made completely fucking useless.

No because it was probably only made to be a powerful and unique boss Pokemon for one of the gym leaders in R/S. I seriously doubt anyone at GameFreak is sitting around thinking "but how do we fix Slaking?"

Slaking and Archeops have an excuse. Regigigas makes absolutely no sense, and I'm pissed that I'll never be able to use it.
