>>34597999Gen 8 Predictions:
There will be a Sinnoh remake. No new pokemon for the remake, but players can catch pokemon from shaking spots, hordes, etc. that they couldn't in the originals. This will include pokes from all regions.
Mega stones and Z-moves will be unavailable until the end game.
The big gimmick will be "partners" - other trainers who will follow the player and battle alongside them throughout the game. Different partners will allow access to different areas, and will replace the HMs. This is how they further ruin rivals and chain you to a babbling idiot for the entire adventure. You will literally be unable to escape them.
After a while, you'll be able to switch out partners, each of which will have different abilities, like healing your pokemon, boosting the EV gain from battles, gaining more EXP, etc.
They will also take up the bottom screen, and constantly try to talk to you, sometimes immobilizing you until you tap through their pointless conversation "Wow! We're so far from home, do you think we should call our moms and tell them we're okay?" "Whoa, I've never seen anything like <pokemon you just encountered> do you think I should catch one?" "Holy Fucknuts you're the best trainer ever, please let me suck your dick, you're the most important motherfucker in the universe! Notice me senpai!"
Their pokemon will be pre-determined and have preset levels, mostly leaving you handicapped in important battles, and stupidly overpowered when dealing with underlings.
After beating the E4, you can finally tell the partner to fuck off, and have access to all the perks and HM substitutes via Colress inventions you gather in a short post-game quest with Looker.
No follow pokemon, but you will drag the deadweight all through the main story.
