Is this shit worth the price of $20, /vp/? I don't have time/money to buy every fucking game and I'm nowhere near autistic enough to grab every event pokemon (which is why I would buy it). Any anons have a review of this, good or bad?

If you use it, you can get any legendary, any shiny, or any pokemon with the best stats as you want. $20 isn't that much, it's not like it's $50 or something.

So if you really want any pokemon, shiny, legendary, etc...it's worth it if you use it.

You can basically look up the codes on the action replay websites (the fan ones, not the official one), where you can find codes for anything.

Also if you have other 3DS games of course you can use it for anything. I also used it to get all the extra collectables in the Zelda games for example that i was too lazy to find myself.

Then you don't want an action replay. It doesn't give you free games. It needs a cartridge to even let you do anything.

(Unless things have changed recently and you can now use it to install cfw on your 3ds)

I used it and I was quite happy with it however you WILL eventually get problems with it like the powersave just outright not working and for USUM you'll need to pay an extra 5 dollars to get early access to their cheatcodes.

Just hack your 3ds by buying a r4i gold instead. Its way better.

You'd have to be beyond fucking braindead to brick your system. It's dragging and dropping files, anyone can do it.

It takes one afternoon to then have access to every handheld Pokemon ever, be able to inject Pokemon for competitive/collecting, and use any pokemon in any game you want.

Before the 3DS days I would say yes. But with injecting now a thing, I would say no. I've only ever injected once back in XY to try it, but figuring it's still just as easy as it was then, just inject your perfect Mon.

Pkhex gives you far more freedom than Powersaves and you don't have to deal with 'early access' bullshit

The guide holds your hand through every step and the programs have hash-checks so it's really hard to brick

Yeah, no. If you want to fuck with your games, just use the latest hax to install custom firmware and enjoy cheat plugins that can actually run while the game is on. I had one of these action replay shits at the dawn of the 3DS for save-swapping and cheating in event pokemon later on, but all it can do is alter save files, which limits what it's capable of. Now I can use a built-in app to store pokemon locally ala Pokemon Bank, but also edit them and/or inject shit. Meanwhile I can do all kinds of cheaty shit in Pokemon and any other game on the system. Action Replay is a fucking ripoff at this point in the 3DS lifespan. You can hack pretty much any firmware version in a few minutes by simply loading a file onto the sd card and following a few simple steps. Save your money and get *way* more bang for your buck.

ntrboot doesn't use an sd card, it uses a flash card. you could spend $20 on a shitty abitrarily limited save editor or 15 on a cheap r4 with minimal sd space and use it for ntr then reap all the benefits. really makes you think
