I'm more hyped about crystal getting VC release than I ever was about USUM
Am I missing much? SM was a quite irritating game and I've never finish it desu. Is USUM still full of pointless 3-minute cutscenes?

Crystal's nice for the nostalgia factor. Would really rather play HG or SS though unless I'm really hungry for that 99/00's feel.

Nah, I've seen playthroughs of USUM; it's literally the same as SM outside small tidbits that are new peppered throughout, but then the narrative changes once you get to the altar. The story itself really hurts from keeping the dialogue the same til that drastic narrative change appears, and there is a major plot hole that makes it hard to ignore how badly written USUM is overall. Game is also still poorly optimized and has frame drops if there's too much going on.

tl;dr: the usual polish that goes into a third version isn't here at all.

As for Crystal, just like I didn't play Gen 1 back during Pokemania (was into the side content, but never played the main games), I missed out on Gen 2, so I'm excited to try it out.

I'm enjoying playing GS more than anything in the last 18 years of this series.

It's just so fucking nice to not have to worry about natures, egg moves (very few Pokemon are significantly better/worse for lack of their egg moves), a laundry list of legacy items to collect, more Pokemon to catch and train than I will ever give a shit to bother with... etc

It says a lot when the cloning glitch is right there to abuse the fuck out of Exp, but I actually enjoy playing the game so much, why would I?

RBY have a lot of problems that makes the trip down memory lane a harsher return to reality that the games haven't aged that well.. GS is the franchise perfected, and even though HGSS tried to perfect it once over, by late Gen IV, the franchise's drawbacks were seriously starting to cripple the enjoyment factor of the games.

Yeah, I have all gen I - V games and I just finished the HG last month (again). Still, having my old games on 3DS is handy - I don't like carrying out my GBA SP

I've been watching adventure time with my 12 year old sister (I'm 28). We both enjoy it just as much. GSC did it right. A kid's RPG with enough depth for adults. Sun and Moon? All flash and no substance. A fucking Gameboy game is more engaging
