150 HP with 100 defenses is already pretty damn bulky, 20 extra base defenses don't make that much of a difference. 20 extra base offenses do though, especially when you want to use it as a tanky mixed attacker with Defog utility and a priority attack.
Base Gitaina would've been a lot better if it had reliable recovery, but as it is it has to rely on Rest to stay alive. Fairies also have damaged its niche as Dragon Tail spammer post Gen 5.
