>>34623996>>34624061I actually had a (shitty) idea earlier to instead further embrace pokemon's turn-based nature and try to open up tactics more.
>future games now have movement and a 'battle grid' system of six squares on each side (one pokemon or even terrain objects per-square)>larger, bulkier pokemon can protect smaller, more fragile ones>terrain hazard moves don't cover the entire opposing field not does any one attack>you now need to decide if you want your multi battles you have all your pokemon out for maximum damage output or keep only a few out to give them maneuvering room>some moves can also now exploit special terrain spaces and objects like using a rock for cover or shoving it into an opponent's side of the field to deny them movement or a water type can jump into a pond to boost it's strength and gain cover (except against electric moves)alternatively give it a 3x3 grid for each side/open up the 'sides' of the battlefield so your pokemon can move into your 'opponent's side'. The latter would probably be more useful for contact moves.
I understand WHY it would never happen though since it would be a fuckload of work and a ridiculous amount of re-balancing required.
But I think if it was something that people and gamefreak wanted, it could really open up new meanings to abilities, moves, etc.
