I’ve never, ever, ever used a Battle Item in my entire history of playing these games, and that’s going back to 1999. Am I missing out?

They are mostly useful in solo and nuzlocke runs. in normal throughs, they are not necessary unless you don't level up your mons.

Nah, not really. They’re only really used if you want to cheese a fight or if you’re severely underleveled.

I've only ever used them if I need to burn a turn. Opponent uses dig, fly, bide etc.

Well, you can use them in sos chains when the pokémon doesn't call another one.

I think the only time I did was to catch Nihilego in SM. I had nothing neutral to Power Gem.
