These faggots killed any hope of us getting anymore viable fighting and dragon type pokemon. Flying and psychic were keeping fighting types balanced perfectly. All they needed to do was make some good ice types instead of killing off dragons for good. Cant play any of my favorites in competitive, about to quit this franchise for good.

Yes, but they don't get STAB on them making it a subpar choice. Many of them also relied on choice itens which are not a good option anymore.
Hell, the coming of Fairies was alone enough to take down a lot of old staples and make some subpar Pokémon pretty damn good just by stacking the type in them. I'm not on the "fairy is the strongest type of all!" boat but it sure is up there.
And in this game, Fighting and Ice were the big losers. Ice since it lost one of its main niches (dealing with Dragons) and Fighting because not only is it weak to Fairy but Fairy also happens to be strong against Dark which Fighting used to deal with.

I disagree. It did make a few pokemon go from "decent" to "goddamn amazing," but most of those are ones that had more going for them than their type. Clefable for instance definitely benefited from becoming a fairy, but even before that it still had an incredible support movepool and not one but two top tier abilities. I don't think there were any pokemon that were bad before becoming fairies that suddenly became good afterwards.

Pokemon isn't meant to be competitive and the balance only exists in your mind. There is no balance because you were never supposed to use whichever pokemon you want, plenty of pokemon were meant to be shit, and some of them were meant to be OP.

not really considering that fighting types were really common in Gen 5, spamming HJK and CC all day. Fighting needed a nerf, but idk if being weak to fairy was the correct choice.

I think what you meant is that SINGLES isn't meant to be competitive since Gay Freak allowed something like Aegislash to exist.

I haven't bothered with competitive last year and don't have any desire to do so.

Fairy, Z moves, megas, OP abilities, the game is just barely playable and not fun at all.

Of course, considering that Game Freak "balances" the game around doubles format, even though doubles is only played a handful of times throughout the story.
Aegislash is strong in doubles, but not that strong which is why it got off scotfree while Talonflame got gutted like a fish. and Dark Void is basically a non-move, and also that the Tapus were introduced in the first place.

Nope because Fairies also brought about the rise of Poison types, which also resist Fighting types. This also in the gen that introduced Gale Wings and increased viability among Flying types was overkill. They should have made Fairies resist Fighting but not SE on them (or the other way) but not both.

The fact that the fighting types unaffected by fairies were GF's favorite boytoys (Lucario and Blaziken) due to dual typing WHILE ALSO getting megas was just insulting as fuck.
