Have you never seen an anime?
practically half of the "animation" is panning over a still shot. Sometimes slowly, to cover an area or setting. Sometimes fast to show action, without actually animating any action.
Some animes are literally just the drawings off of manga pages, but with view panning.

ok so it's more slapstick/physical comedy and the characters are more exaggerated and expressive to the point of sometimes being off model, so what? better than the gen 4 and 5 anime where the characters are literally just ripped from their sugi art, look uncharismatic, are scarcely animated, mostly they're stationary with a thousand yard stare

Ultra sun is gonna be my last game. Pokemon is effectively dead to me after Gen 7. My love was already dying by Gen 5, but I thought GF could bring it back for one last big score through their 20th. But nah man, we didn't get shit but a easy as piss game that takes away all the good shit and an equally poor as fuck movie. This franchise is dead and has now reanimated as a corpse that feeds off only money. Being childish is not the only negative aspect of SM. it also got rid of the travelling concept of the anime which has been the heart of this franchise since gen 1. Also, the battles are extremely lackluster compared to previous seasons. Ash is completely laid back and does not even care about his goal anymore. This season completely butchered the only expectation of fan i.e to win a league.

SM is the lowest the anime has ever reached in terms of quality. Its even worse than BW.

XY was targeted towards kids ranging from 7-12 years old. Kids these days prefer mature and shounen stuff rather than cute slice of life shenanigans. Also, these "mature" elements are toned down to be comprehensible for kids. Meanwhile SM is targeted towards infants who drink milk from their mama's tits.

The first season, if you watch it in japanese, had a lot of smutty jokes. Also, being the very first season, it had the liberty to be salacious and unscrupulous without being criticised. That was because pokemon had not set any standards for itself. So basically it can circumvent this argument.
