>>34637199No, but there's always a shift in graphics when pokemon moves to a new system
>gbc to gba they still had to overhaul the overworld and make it more detailed and colorful than the gbc
>gba to dsagain, similar to the gba, but overworld details upped, environments etc (and we all know how bad the case with DP was)
>gen 4 to gen5they made a graphical shift in preparation for the 3ds i imagine, world once again got more detailed, sprites got more detailed in the overworld, kinda looked like 2.5d..almost
>ds to 3dsagain, overhaul of the overworld, shift to 3d, sprites got bigger again, detailed but remained chibis. Complete pokemon model overhaul to 3d and all that
>oras to smshift from sprite world to 3d model world, everything got an overhaul again and we established the 3ds was close to exploding with what they tried to shove in it
>3ds to switchi think this is a bigger jump because we are losing the dual screens, much like we gained them once upon a time. Also the systems aren't as similar as say...the ds->3ds.
It's likely that they will shift the games graphically at least to some degree, although I imagine at the core, it will be similar to SM graphics. Needless to say, all that shit requires more effort than before probably, so being a 2-year development cycle is honestly not any consolation at all. XY didn't turn out that well as is usually the case with the 1st games on a new system and I wouldnt want the switch game(s ) to be even worse with even less time for development
