So /vp/, mythical Pokémon, what do you think of them? How should they be handled? What's with the mewclone or uh, I guess nowadays pseudo-mewclone being for every generation?

Gens 1-4 were good. I like Victini and Genesect too, but the legendary count just got way to high at that point. I don’t see mythicals as being special anymore after that. There haven’t been real “school yard rumor”-tier mythicals since gen 3-4 desu..

No more events with time-sensitive availability. I got all of them during the big 2016 distribution but that doesn't make the gimmick any less stupid or obsolete.

Speaking of which the rewards for defeating Rainbow Rocket felt lackluster, I mean you’d think you’d get some grand reward for defeating the boss of every villain team in the entire series but instead you just get 55 Big Nuggets among other smaller rewards.

I used to hate them and the biggest culprits back then were Celebi and Deoxys for me, mainly because I really wanted a Deoxys back then but I never had the means to obtain it since wifi wasnt a thing. Gen 4 made things better with wifi but its really frustrating to try and get these when you missed their event distributions. Im glad I found out about the black void to get Darkrai and Shaymin and recently Arceus.

Also, GF is very guilty of being biased towards their own country so you'll see japan getting multiple giveaways but in the US/EU you'll get one at most every gen.

Maybe I just don't follow them well enough, but it always bothers me that I don't really ever seem to know what their lore is. They're never in the games, they usually get introduced well after I've had my fill of the latest game, and I don't watch the movies so I never get to get a good feel of what they're like or how they fit into the world. They're just sort of there.
