i've played the game since Pokemon Blue and it was hands down my most enjoyed first playthrough of a new gen games ever. It was like celebrating everything about Pokemon and seeing its transition to 3D.

Hands down, XY had a 10/10 soundtrack. Replaying Y a few months ago really reminded me of that fact. It's really incredible that it seems to get overlooked a lot in music threads.

On top of that, the region was beautiful, the Super Training minigames were enjoyable, I'm glad there were new ribbons, the Maison > Tree in my opinion, and I enjoyed the added lore. Sure, some of the gym leaders and the champion could've used some work, but that's why I wish gen 6 had an extra year via Z or X2/Y2 to clean that up.

I liked Lysandre and AZ. Im sad they never expanded upon AZ or Zygarde in 6th gen

Pic related, one of my favorite pokemon and my 2nd favorite starter

Honestly, the music in this game was pretty great overall, but i like Sycamore's theme and Snowbelle City a lot

Seeing the rather dissapointing Quilladin evolve into Chesnaught and seeing my Doublade evolve into Aegislash was really cool.
>What are your most fond memories?
Using Pokemon Amie for the first time and getting to use mega evolution for the first time

overall i like 6th gen. After seeing them for a while now, i can definately see how the models have really washed out colors and it makes me a little sad to loose the vibrant colors, but i hope that issue resolves in the switch game

XY don't deserve the hate most people have towards them. They might not be the best games around, but at least they aren't as bad as Sun and Moon. XY also fixed more Shitmons than any other games thanks to Mega Evolution.

Also compared with Sun and Moon, XY introduced better clothings (until Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, which introduced clothes based on Pokémon like Pikachu, Kommo-o, and Lurantis.)

What also many people dont realize is that other regions had upgrade games to make you revisit a better version of it. Kalos didnt have that and yet it still holds its own

Fav moment was encountering Zygarde in Terminus Cave and the speculation and theories people came up with regarding it

A shame that the complete form is just temporary and how gen 7 didn't let Zygarde amount to anything important at all

Some fond memories include completing the National Dex and eventually gettings lots of accidental shinies

Really enjoyed how the regular dex in Kalos got 450 mons to get and how there was a lot of variety when encountering trainers and such

Diantha's theme is neat imo

I don't get the XY hate, desu. I really liked XY, though I thought the plot was a little lacking. That's not unusual, though, I'm usually disappointed with Pokemon plots. They always end too soon or seem to brush past them, when I personally find them one of the most interesting aspects of the game.

I didn't like Team Flare at all, but Lysandre wasn't too bad.

Amie and customization were honestly one of my favorite gimmicks they've added throughout the franchise, I might even like them more than Pokemon following you around.

Favorite city/town - Lumiose City followed by Laverre City

Routes - Route 7 and Route 14

Caves/Dungeons - Victory Road

Facilities - The ghost house

Xerneas or Yveltal wakes up from its comatose state to attack the player.

Looking up the leaks from these games 2 weeks before release and discovering the new Pokemon

Laverre is one of the most amazing locations in the whole series.

Route 7 is simple, but the view is striking and it's a hub for where I found many of my favorite Pokemon of the generation, like Honedge and Flabebe.

Terminus Cave is super cool, nuff said.
>Facilities?
Inverse battle is a good feature and should stay around. As a Grass fan I greatly appreciate its existence.

AZ is fantastic, I hope they finish his storyline.

Floette a cute, but there are so many great choices. Honedge, Chespin, Aurorus, all super cool lines.

Diantha has a great theme, a huge step up from the raw sewage that was Iris.

The ghost house bit was hilarious, and the ending ceremony was a much needed first for the series AZ's reunion was a tearjerker but everyone remembers that so no need to mention it
>What are your most fond memories?
Sending up my oldest transferable Pokemon and favorite partner, and finally meeting face-to-face with Pokemon Amie. It was a powerful moment.

Dendemille is so cute, I loved that place.

All of the autumn ones.

Reflection and Glittering were both pretty unique as far as caves go.

Battle Chateau was great for grinding.

I don't really care for any of them really. XY had a shit plot.

Chesnaught, Clawitzer, Noivern, Aurorus.

Route 15 probably, great theme.

Mainly the large dex and playing 3D Pokemon.

3D Pokemon for the first time on a handheld.

Overall I loved X when it came out, but the only thing really bringing me back is the large regional dex which is great for Nuzlockes and repeat runs. It's not a bad game, but the story is garbage, the Gen 1 pandering is really bad (I actually think it's worse here than in Gen 7, as it's a lot more blatant and shoved in rather than used as part of the story or what have you), and honestly I feel like it's a bit uninspired overall. Still found it better than ORAS though, but I definitely prefer Gens 5 and 7. Kalos felt the most "videogamey" of all the regions, if that makes sense.

I think they do. Even ignoring the most commonly cited flaws, for me, they commit the cardinal sin of just being really boring to play. I was getting bored before the end of my first playthrough, and when I went back to give the games a second chance several years later I didn't even get to Laverre City before giving up. They're the only Pokémon games that have had this effect on me.

I agree, although if only Zygarde wasn't such a mess. All of its different formes are nice, though it is lame that its Complete forme doesn't even retain Aura Break at all or that we get to keep it.

Regardless, the "aura" trio is still solid

There's too many good ones to choose. They used the new graphics well in almost every town, especially with how many actually have different heights like Couriway Town and Dendemille Town.

Route 19, the one with the marsh. The main path is basic, but all of the optional parts make it feel really big.
>Caves/Dungeons?
Reflection Cave, as it felt weirdly narrow somehow.

Battle Chateau was surprisingly good, if not a bit too good. I got very distracted on my second run and ended up evolving Pokemon for the dex in it once I got there. Long story short, I overleveled the champion before the third gym.
>Favorite characters?
Lysandre is probably the only character I cared for, aside from gym leaders that didn't get much focus. I didn't necessarily dislike any of the characters though. I feel like Tierno could've benefited from coming out a gen later, with Oricorio and Lilligant being in the regional dex.

I don't think I can choose a favorite, but I quite like Chesnaught and Aegislash. I just really like their designs, and both are fun to use. Actually ended up liking most of the dex for once. As for music, I don't really pay attention to the music at all so I can't give a favorite for that either.

Weirdly enough, it's probably how the rival is depressed in post-game. It was just really surprising. The battle against Shauna on the route 19 bridge was also nice for some reason.
I also skipped the old man dying in Anistar City by accident since I didn't have a Pokemon to give him at the time. Didn't know that existed until a friend mentioned it.

Definitely trading friend codes with people for the friend safari. The lack of bringing Pokemon from old gens for a while made it the most fun I'd had in the games for a long time, and ended up changing how I play through the games now.
