A Dark-type version of Lillie just sounds like a non-ironic version of Gladion though. Maybe a ghost-type version that tries to appeal to the Hex Maniac/Acerola audience by being spooky and mysterious, but actually is weak and needs help.

N was an antagonist for the most of the game though, and he didn't show up in the anime outside of a single arc near the end, while Lillie fills the same role for the current season that Misty, May, Dawn, Iris, and Serena did (the female lead)
