There's something interesting I find about Lumineon and other Pokemon like it that I think other Pokemon games should do.

In short, PUT THE SHIT POKEMON EARLIER AND THE GOOD ONES LATER. You find Finneon super late in Sinnoh, and by then you probably have a better Water type. So what's the point of getting a Finneon?

The reason I bring this up is because you can get Finneon as soon as you complete the 2nd totem, which is the earliest you can ever get it in any game. And guess what! It's actually usable at that point because you get it so early, and it makes for a great temporary team member! Sure, you can find Tentacool in that exact same spot, and a billion better Water types down the road, but it doesn't completely suck as it does in other games where it shows up too late.

I also remembered fucking Glameow. You find it way too late for it to be actually useful! Glameow gets Fake Out at level 1 and Hypnosis at level 13! That's actually useful for early game! And yet they chose to put it in a route much too late for it to be considered usable.

I just went through this entire text before I remembered Quacklin' the Farfetch'd in X and Y! Remember Quacklin' ? He's a Farfetch'd you can get as a trade from a guy for a Bunnelby, and he's fucking great because he automatically has Aerial Ace to take care of the nearby Bug gym! See how great this can be if they actually gave a shit???

I forgot to mention that in Sinnoh, there's a guy who will trade you a Chatot, and it WOULD be super helpful for taking down Gardenia's Grass type gym, but it learns Chatter at level 21, and the Coal Badge only has Pokemon up to level 20 obey you.

Compare to Starmie, usually available late game too. Starmie is a Special attacker. But it has 75 Physical attack. Yes Starmie's "Wrong" attacking stat hits harder than Lumineon. In fact, Starmie outclasses Lumineon in ever stat except HP. Some retarded kid who caught an Adamant Starmie and decided to make it Physical will have a stronger pokemon than a guy who caught a perfect Lumineon with perfect IVs. Just just how bad Lumineon is.

Lumineon doesn't need a mega evolution, it needs an actual evolution and then give that a mega.

In USUM it can be really good 70% of the game. Caught it early on in my nuzlocke and made it until Necrozma where it died. Still, early acess to Bounce, Aqua Tail and Z-Splash thanks to move tutor or Scald in SM really let it be better than it usually is in other games. It should have evolved soon tho

Give it Bubblebeam, a Mega Launcher-esque ability for beam moves (affects Bubblebeam, Aurora/icebeam, Psybeam, Signal Beam, Hyper Beam), and maybe Tail Glow. It wouldn't be competitively viable or anything, but at least it would actually see some use with this.

Eh, it's pretty well-rounded I'd say, standard deviation between its stats is relatively small compared to a lot of mons. The problem is that the BST is shit so that results in its stats end up being shit all around with a balance spread.

I actually like well-balanced stats on mons but there's so few "well-rounded" mons that don't end up suffering some type of master of none syndrome, especially with how the meta has changed over the years. I miss the days when mixed sweepers were a lot more viable.
