No dual typing like the other 2(3), predictable movepool, less useful ability. I don't know what dual typing it could have had, but Water/Steel would made the most sense while also making blastoise very useful because of Fairies

gimmick ability, and fundamentally bad stat distribution. there's absolutely no incentive to use mega blastoise

the 20 point raise in attack should've went to literally any of the other stats (but to be fair, most megas get gains in useless stats)

blastoise was always my favorite of the original three, so it hurts to see game freak fuck him like this

Did you enjoy Blastoise being unable to do anything at all in gen 1?

Granted none of the starters in gen 1 were really noteworthy but Blastoise lagged behind hard in gen 2.

Blastoise is slow as fuck. It'll never pull off a 100% damage Water Spout and even if it does it gets pitiful in the long run and you'd have wasted a moveslot that should have gone to a coverage move.
