favourite overall starter was totodile, favourite fully evolved was torterra. This was way back when ash-greninja first became a thing and was super fresh scar, with greninja still getting like 3rd or 4th despite that

I said this shit so many times and will continue to do so: no one actually hates Primarina outside of the memesters on this (dead) board and Incineroar's hate died down significantly to the point where most are ok with it (and don't get me started on Decidueye, most or at least a good portion of its popularity is still attributed to Rowlet, but other then that, it's still just as liked as before).
So yeah, GF hit the bell with the starters this gen and no ammount of /vp/tism can change that.

The Primarina Plush is also sold out right now on the Japanese PC after being in the top 10/5 until a week ago, and the new Pokemon with YOU badge sold more than any other Alola Pokemon (Bewear, Decidueye, Incineroar, Togedemaru) but less than any of the eeveeolutions. On a happier note, the plush is finally back in stock on the US PC after being out since early December.

I don't care much about this starter shit, but even I know that Popplio is barely a blip in the starterwar radar. It usually comes down to either Litten or Rowlet.
