How do you guys obtain most of your pokemon? Do you inject them in the most legal way, or do you go though hours of rnging to obtain them in a legitimate sense?

Honestly it's a bit of both. I go for the legit method first of MM breeding but when it comes down to soft resetting for a legendary that's when I say fuck it.

Catch them all myself. Used an obviously hacked japanese ditto for breeding. I do know how to rng abuse for gen 5. PKhex/back up saves for all my important pokemon.

Breed with 6iv dittos but currently, pkhex the legends especially the ultra sun ones.
Not gonna buy the same game for a 3rd time just to get those.
Back in ORAS I relied on cloning and trading for the legends to use in VGC

Can't you just breed a really good egg and shinify that egg and it comes out as completely legit, instead of maybe rnging one and having to hatch like 200 eggs to land on the right seed

Well, since Gamefreak decided to fuck me with apricorn balls and made breeding RNG broken if you have the shiny charm (everything is set in stone from the moment you start the game)

Fuck that, I'll RNG it. I prefer hunting normally, but they didn't fix the breeding RNG. I want my damn shiny charm, and all these new legendary pokemon that need the fucking apricorn balls... and I have only a few to waste each attempt...

At least RNG abuse is just waiting for hours, I guess. I'd hate to SR over 20,000 times, and only have two fucking balls to chuck at Reshiram or whatever.

I obtained my team in ultra sun legit and frankly it didn't take that long.
Caught 3 4IV dittos, bred correct natures until 4IV and bottlecapped the last IV. it took like 6 hours of gameplay spread over a week.

I'll find/trade for a pokemon I want legitimately in-game, then I'll use pkHex/powersaves to distribute stats and natures accordingly.

RNG Manipulation is the patrician answer. You still get satisfaction from having put in SOME effort, but it doesn't take super long and you can't possibly fuck up with legality since your game itself still generated the mon

I haven't heard of anyone who did. I'm honestly tempted to do it, but I don't feel like getting bitched at (even though if I trade for them, the source will most likely be hacked anyway...) So GLHF if you want to do it legitimately. At least I'm not resetting for days then having to start from scratch. I just lose 10+ hours while I do other things when I fail.

Your goal is to get in most cases a 5IV mon with either attack of sp attack as a dumpstat.
In gen 7 you can hyper train by giving bottlecaps to the guy in hau'oli city which increases your IVs.
You can farm bottlecaps with the poke pelago or fishing.

4IV ditto is more than good enough to get a 4IV mon you can hyper train into whatever you need.
Just get a 4IV ditto who is missing attack and sp attack or 2 4IV dittos who miss either one of them.

5IV ditto makes this even easier and faster, but farming one is not necessary.

Having high attack stat on a special attacker is actually harmful as you do more confuse self damage.

I don't play anything other than older games and romhacks anymore, but the only cheating I ever did in the current games was sometimes editing IVs/Natures in some Pokemon I wanted to use, especially random shinies I sometimes found.
Full injecting is retarded and kills the game, but throwing your bros in the garbage because their numbers are permanently fucked also kills the game a bit, so I did what I could to keep it enjoyable.
