What does Chandy have over the clown? I want to use one on a battle spot doubles team but am struggling to find where it's not outclassed. I was thinking something with ghostnium.

I guess. But do you really need it? Is zard y that much of an issue to you?

I MMd a shiny chandelure before we saw blacephalon, but the fact of the matter is that the chandelier is to blacephalon as flygon is to garchomp, or toxapex to slowbro, or tapu koko to jolteon/raikou/thundy/etc.

Isn't Blacepalon more of a glass cannon with a poor movepool? They're not even that comparable.

Minimize. No idea about doubles, but in SM I ran into a Flash Fire Minimize Chandelure on singles. I assume it was partly intended to soft counter Blaziken since it is immune to its STAB-moves, can be EV'd to not get 2hko'd by Adamant Thunderpunch and Stone Miss sits at only 12.507589556769885% usage. Apparently didn't have pp ups so got pp wasted by Mega Venusaur and Zapdos.

If I were to say, I guess an infiltrator scarf set to revenge kill sub-setup or screw with aurora veil teams has to be worth something, and blacephalon doesn't get infiltrator.

Then again blace doesn't need to run a scarf so who knows.

Chandelure's sole role in doubles since its introduction is Trick Room.

Ghost type Trick Room was always valuable due to its immunity to Fake Out. However, with today's general power creep, niche roles such as this one are losing on flavor.

Sadly it's just the nature of this shit "competitive" game. Soon it'll sum into slap fights with little strategy.
