I kind of want to get super into Pokemon. Like, more into Pokemon than I already am. And the best place to start would be collecting all the games, starting with the mainline games.

But, you know how places like ebay are, they'll scam the hell out of you for old carts. What I'm trying to ask, /vp/, is what's the most reliable way of going about getting old Pokemon carts, Gens 1-3?

Try smaller gaming stores and pawn shops. They can still be pricey, but typically they're at least legitimate carts.

Go to ebay and learn how to spot them. It very easy. If you don't trust yourself to spot a fake go to a reputable seller. Gamestop has surprisingly good prices except they are never in stock. I can't personally vouch for the quality.

My advice is to put in the time and don't cheap out. That's what I did. I have all 5 Gen 3 games, all legit. I don't know about Gens 1 and 2.
