It's a wall with middling defences and a bad type.

No recovery. Every other slug/snail line learns Recover but not this, despite even being in the same egg group as Milotic which learns it.

Mega Launcher boosting aura moves will never not be weird to me.

Water Pulse is relatively weak compared to most other aura moves. Blastoise doesn't have any good ways to heal. 20 points are wasted on Attack. Being monotype sucks in general.
