- You can become the champion right away. If you don't beat the 8 gyms you can go to Victory Road but it becomes tougher.
- Gyms can be beaten in any order you like.
- If you don't know Surf, you can use ferry services or small aircraft to go to place like Cinnabar Islands or other inaccessible places.
- Blue does a good job as a rival, subtly encouraging you to follow his path out of sheer competitive spirit and beat him.
- Team Rocket, SS Anne, Safari Zone, Cinnabar Mansion, Mewtwo's quest and Bill's Lighthouse are sidequests.
- Update everyone's Pokemon roster to Gen 7.
- Add Professor Oak as a secret boss once you beat all sidequests, main quests and complete the National Pokedex.
