Every time I do a shiny hunt (I have the charm) I go at least 500 over odds before I get one. Am I just incredibly unlucky or have i screwed something up?

There's no way to screw up soft resetting, so it's just bad luck.
Odds are just a way of estimating, there's no guarantee to how many resets are needed.
I've gone over 14000 resets to get a shiny Uxie, just keep at it my dude.

RNG abuse is the easiest way to get shines if you 're too bad to inject or want to easily pass hack inspections.

Don't even need pokecalc but it's more annoying to get your seed.
