I say we wait to see what the Switch game looks like.
This is basically their final test. If they disappoint, it will be obvious, and it will be panned. Everybody has expectations. Not just hardcore fans on image boards and message boards. People on Instagram, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter. You know what I mean. Regular people. and regular people make up a large percentage of Pokemon's revenue. Game Freak needs to wake up and realize people DO have big expectations even if they say "oh please don't thanks." I'm not in a committed relationship with Game Freak. I don't owe them anything. If the critics and consumers pan the Switch release for being a disappointment, Nintendo shareholders WILL pressure every single company involved with Pokemon, and things WILL change.
So either we win with Gen 8, or we win with Gen 9.
