S/M recycled a ton of Colosseum's plot; Lusamine going nuts was just meant to be an equivalent of Es Cade suddenly going batshit crazy and becoming Evice, but they went too far and inadvertently got people hyped up about Lusamine Forme Nihilego.

They removed the game corner to avoid a 12 rating, due to the EU's (correct, imo) laws on gambling depictions in vidya, not a fucking hope were they allowing you to directly battle a woman who'd fused with a pokémon, that kind of negative publicity is toxic.

Many games with E ratings get away with shit like that all the time
For fuck's sake, you literally see Pokemon frozen to death in the game
Not to mention this gen's Pokedex entries
Motherbeast Lusamine isn't battleable because of Game Freak's incompetence, not because of an E rating
