My 2nd shiny Pawniard, now Bisharp, on New Years Day. I'm on a drought.

It's an insane toss-up with over 10 Dragons, but I'll narrow it down to 1) Noibat, 2) Fraxure, 3) Rayquaza, 4) Flygon and 5) Latios. Black, blue and turquoise shinies have the absolute best colors.
>Success Story?
I've managed to get pic related, a back-to-back Camerupt in the FS, back-to-back Karrablast egg hatches, and a 6IV HA Treecko via MM, but I have failed a Nidorino in FireRed's Safari Zone many years ago before I started huntan.

I was filling.

Have been extremely lucky. Last shiny was a Sableye when I was hatching with a hidden abillity for a friend. Was the fourth one I hatched. Before that I hatched a shiny a vulpix on accident when I wanted to trade a few on the gts for Dex filling

Gonna do a hoppip for a friend.

Anyone happen to have a hoppip with egg moves or something?

Hmm i guess the most recent one i remember is when i finally got my shiny Nihilego. I went to EV train. First encounter shiny Magnemite. At this point i was thinking wow what amazing luck today. After i finished EV training i went yo train and i found my first ever SOS shiny a Chansey.

I remember in Gen 6 when Competitive (the hidden ability) Milotic was a thing, so it could switch into Sticky Webs and get the +2 for its Special Attack. With its base speed, and due to the meta being so fast-paced all the time, you definitely won't be needing its Speed stat; HOWEVER, there may be some shit you might want to outspeed that are also the same Speed stat at Milotic, so it couldn't hurt to invest in 8-12 EVs in Speed, as long as it already has max IVs in said stat.

Realistically, and tl;dr, you won't be outspeeding anything, so don't worry about the Speed stat. It's a wall first and foremost, and good for spreading status, stalling and phazing.

How many SRs do you all get in per day?

I only put in a few hours at most, and I'm not the most efficient at it so I usually get 500 or so before calling it quits. As a result it usually takes me three or four days per hunt.

Anyone got tips or tricks for staying focused/ boosting efficiency?

I just started SR hunting for the first time ever in UM last week, and I got really lucky with Lugia (644 SR) and Cresselia (712 SR).

Now I'm spoiled and getting impatient in my Palkia hunt that just passed 1,100 SR. I know that's nothing from what I've seen in this threads, but I think I'll appreciate this Palkia more than anything else since I've spent the longest trying to nab it.

I had my longest hunt ever, and I didn't give up. So I'm pretty new to Soft Resetting for shinies, I usually just Masuda. But I wanted Guzzlord. Can't Masuda that one. So I found one, reset (cutscene included) 26 times.
>"Fuck that cutscene" the fat man thought to himself.
So I left, and ventured back in to find another Guzzlord to avoid that cutscene. It only took ten minutes, and I found it at <1,000 Light Years.
Then I reset for it a little over 7,000 times, no shiny charm. I know 7K isn't a lot at all, but for one of my first reset hunts, it was pretty rough.

I like to build comp pokemon and build stories for each pokemon I make. Therefore I try really hard to make each pokemon special in their own way. Usually this means I hunt my favourite legendaries and try really hard to make them as perfect as I can make them. It's some good fun.

Of course theres also just the feeling of getting really lucky, which is great.

False Swipe and Sub is what I usually have on all my FSers, but any two moves will do, as you're not gonna use them. The reason I said A-Maro is because it takes zero damage from Hammer Arm and Thrash (so Staka can't hit you and confuse itself), and unlike other Ghosts like Chandelure and Blacephalon who also resist Heavy Slam, A-Maro has great defense and also False Swipe to safely knock down Staka's HP, and shit, give it Leftovers with a Roto Boost(s). Don't forget to use a LeppaSwap Exeggutor/Trevenant w/ Sleep Powder, and optional (as what I'm using for all the UBs), a Topsy-Turvy Malamar to change the stat boosts. I also use Magnezone to T-Wave if they wake up, but in low health so A-Mark can tank hits while you try to catch it, and also Parasect for more accurate sleep, but tedious healing. This is just for Guzzlord, but I've had this team for Celesteela. Damp Soak Golduck + Super Fang Houndoom are perfect for Blacephalon.

For just normal pokemon, when you go through the wormhole.
If you were to save before you trigger the battle, it will be shiny every time, so you can keep trying for your desired nature and IVs.
For legends and UBs, you can SR for shinyness.

That's right, except for Stakataka, Balcephalon, and Poipole, you can get as many of the other UBs as your little heart desires.
The aforementioned are limited, but not shiny locked.
And UBs are only found in the white wormholes.

Yeah I remember right I killed the first Stakataka and trying to get a shiny without the charm is kind of a frustrating idea for me but I should do that first and SR on Poipole as well. Yes, and it be as fast as the first egg. You're hatching the eggs without any abilities, so it's the given amount of steps (like 5,128 for certain mons, 10,000+ for Dragons, etc.) to hatch them, but the low odds makes it worth it. The odds are so great that I've gotten back-to-back shiny hatches a few times.

Is there a pastebin or anything with info on how to really get started for shiny hunting? I know there's a bunch of resources on different methods out there but a single document with all of them listed and guides on how to most efficiently do it would be nice. Also something that lists all the shiny locked pokemon in each game. I know Serebii has a page for that type of thing but it only covers on a species basis so I'm not certain if the gift pikachu with surf in USUM is locked or not since his site only says Pikachu isn't locked as any normal pikachu can be shiny.

Not sure about a good place to find help getting started shiny hunting, but in USUM the only shiny locked Pokemon are the box legendaries (including Cosmog and Cosmoem) , Necrozma, the Tapus, Totem gift Pokemon, and Zygarde. The UBs and wormhole legendaries are all fair game. The surfing Pikachu is also available to shiny hunt. Hope that helped a little and that I didn't leave out any shiny locked mons you can find in-game.

There's no guide because it's not that complicated.
Step one, Catch 'Em All.
Step 2, get the charms.
Step III- pick a target and grind.
I'm fine with my Parasect, but there could be a guide for a good Smeargle set. False Swipe, Spore, Soak for those grass types, and something else?

It only happens when you have both the regular and shiny form, so let's say you had a regular Nihilego. If you happened to have a shiny one, you can go to the Pokemon's info for cries, etc., go to Appearance, and you can change it there.
