Also Rowan and Sycamore have similar niches. One tries every method conceivable to bring out a new stage of evolution or a branch evo. Sycamore is the lamest Professor objectively, he studies Mega evos but doesn’t really have any knowledge about that and essentially has to rely the most on bonded trainers that have already used mega evolution enough for him to ask or see collectible data. He can’t (apparently) immediately bond with a bunch of pkmn and gather data. Also he is limited by access to (mega) evo stones more so than other regions and more traditional evo stones
