Would make more sense if it was part Ghost instead of Fighting, the thing with bear being seen as cute but dangerous also makes sense but why there's a random living plush running around a tropical island, the only explanation i can think of is that they were created by Lusamine at Aether Lab because of her obsession with cute things but then they escaped and started breeding in the wild but in the game there's barely any mention of that

Maybe it is just a vicious hunter bear that evolved to look friendly and lure prey into a trap
Or it just looks cute for aesthetic reasons and it is incredibly territorial so it attacks anyone that goes into his territory, that would also explain why it tries to warn/intimidate before attacking
