Why cant we change the nicknames of traded pokemon

Seriously? Who's idea was this? Why? Why has this not changed yet?

If I get a pokemon with a stupid nickname or advertising for some bastard's shitty website/youtube channel it's stuck like that and I cant do jack shit. How can GF fucking justify this?

But what about pokemon that were never nicknamed to begin with? How on Earth isn't "nicknaming someone else's pokemon for the first time" a thing? It fucking stings getting a pokemon that was just hatched for instance and never nicknamed and realize it'll always be called Bulbasaur or what not unless it goes back to its first owner to be properly nicknamed by such.

I like the solution someone on here suggested that maxing out friendship/ affection would allow you to nickname traded pokemon
