So I dunno about anyone else but I was bothered by how many Legendaries Gen 4 had yet for Gen 7 I did not mind the abundance at all, why is that?

Ultra Beasts don't feel like legendaries. They work the same way insgame (limited encounters, set IVs, no breeding) but they're basically just aliens.

For all we know, Nihilego could be the Tentacool and Pheromosa the Weedle of whatever dimension they came from.

Gen 4's dex as a whole is imbalanced. Adding onto the legendary problem, you have:
>A large portion dedicated to cross-gen evolutions.
>A lot of Pokemon were overly hidden within the region or required too many conditions to find.
>Several Pokemon that auto-set weather or relied on it without anything to compliment their weathers, making them a hindrance to use in-game
>Several Pokemon are locked by either gender differences or game versions.
As a whole, it feels as if there's no regular Gen 4 Pokemon to choose from when playing through Sinnoh so the legendaries feel extra bloated as a result. Not to mention you will need a HM Slave or two, cutting down your options even further.

Gen 7's were easier to catch. All of Sinnoh's legends had like a catch rate of 3.

Plus the SM legends just look way better, and thanks to Nebby and Null and UBs they do a better job at feeling more like normal, albeit powerful, mons; capturing them feels more natural than going after literal gods or the thing that pulled the continents.

Because in Alola they were the only pokemon that looked decent and were usable but guzzlord. In sinnoh most pokemon were usable with love it or hate designs and the legedaries but Phoine were very good

This is my main problem with Gen 4. Zubat and Geodude are everywhere but there are very few available Gen 4 Pokemon. There's a reason every DP team was starter, Luxray, Staraptor, Bibarel HM Slave, and two fillers. Roserade definitely if you didn't pick Turtwig.

How? I can understand if you mean the final evos, but you can get all of these relatively early; you can even get Gliscor with EQ just before Maylene. And Nosepass evolves in the same place you capture it.

I was just keeping it to the finals and mostly thinking of DP thereby ignoring fixes in Platinum, but admittedly I couldn't make the canvas any longer than 4000 and just threw the last line together

Being almost impossible to get or reliant on pure RNG (changing Marsh mons or the Honey tree odds) is not a good thing. Especially as it meant nobody used those things in the game.

Someone made the baffling decision that after beating Cyrus, it should be totally impossible to leave Spear Pillar without also fighting Dialga or Palkia. This means you can't leave to restock on Poké Balls, which in turn means that Dialga and Palkia had to compensate by being way easier to catch.
Somehow nobody realized it's actually more challenging to leave, come back with more Poké Balls and have an actual fight and only more frustrating to be stuck there with no choice and no chance to prepare... That's anyone's guess. It's especially weird that the REASON you can't leave isn't even justified in-world, but literally just "Professor Rowan and Dawn or Lucas decide not to let you leave for no reason."

Let's run down Alola's:

Most Alola Pokemon are rarer than they should be, but aside from Mareanie none of them are SOS and they are just standard encounters, with plenty of them being in the first two islands, and it's fixed somewhat in USUM. Platinum did nothing to fix the honey tree problem sadly.
