type dynamics that make no sense?
>steel weak to fighting
if fighting types are strong enough to break steel, they should be strong enough to break other, obviously weaker things too, like birds, or fairies, either fighting should be SE against everything or steel should resist fighting, the former would break the meta so the latter is preferred
>steel weak to fire
again, if the fire is hot enough to melt steel that quickly it should also be able to evaporate water, and incinerate everything, tungsten, a metal, has the highest known melting point of any element, and tantalum hafnium carbide is mostly metallic and has the highest melting point of any known substance, steel is a better candidate for having resistance to fire, rather than a weakness to it.
>steel weak to ground
even though earthquakes can destroy steel buildings, this isn't because steel is weak, if the buildings were made out of, say, birds, they would obviously fall much quicker. One of the reasons why we make buildings out of steel is because they're actually able to handle a degree of punishment from tectonic forces, therefore I say steel resists ground
