ITT: The first completely random shiny you encountered and when/where that wasn't influenced from mechanic altering means

As in not from:
>shiny charm
>guaranteed (LoR Gyrados or Nature Preserve in B2W2)
>shiny increased area (Ultra Space, Friend Safari, etc.)
>chaining (SOS/Fishing/Horde/etc.)
>masuda method
etc.

Caught me a shiny Metapod years back in SoulSilver during a bug-catching contest and I'm pretty sure I lost the contest. Haven't evolved it yet, my OT name for it was cringe. Have a shiny Chatot, shiny Spearow, and a shiny Diglett caught randomly as well. I like these guys but I wish I had something really cool.

My first was a Whismur in Ruby.

After that, I found two Golbats, a Poliwirl in Y (which I became mad because it was somewhat less rare because of chain fishing) and a Ledian in Moon, but I don't know if it counts since I was chaining, but it was unintentional because I was searching for a Politoed.

Pidgey in the route above the Resort Area in Sinnoh. I caught it and then for some reason didn't find it pertinent to save immediately after, even though my DS battery was in the red.

But then a few weeks later on route I think 228- between Veilstone and Pastoria- I encountered a shiny Houndour, which is one of my favorite Pokemon and a much cooler shiny anyway. And I saved after that one, and I've still got him with me until the day I die.

And I don't know if this counts as fishing chaining, but I heard about that and I decided to casually try it, but I hooked a shiny Floatzel on the very first bite, so that was either random or a chain of one. Either way, blessed.

Something similar happened to me on my first go in X, but the Floatzel I found was the only one I seen so far. When I caught it the Pokedex didn't register its regular forme and only its Shiny forme

My first random shiny was a shiny Shelmet in Y when catching in January 2014 before the bank came out.

And if emulator shinies count, I'd be Golbat inside the Ice Path in Gold.

2 Poochyenas in Emerald, one in 2007 and one last year, Magikarp in Emerald, and Petilil in Moon. I think both Poochyenas were on the Cycling Road route, Magikarp was west of Fallabor, and Petilil was in Poni Plains.

I was 6, I was playing Pokemon Gold. I ran into a shiny Raticate. I excitedly showed my grandpa Joe it. He didn't get it but understood it was important to me. Then my gameboy died.

Got a shiny Golbat on Victory Road on emerald. I went to my daily battle against Walley, who was stationend richtig at Victory roads end, when I encountered it.
It's my only random encountered shiny since.
Tried hunting and breeding more but I have no luck with this.
Still have this Golbat, which is a Crobat by now, on my Ultra Sun game.
This fucker is now more than 12 years old.

A random shiny articuno in Platinum. I loved that thing. I transferred it up to my B2, which got stolen along with my 3DS. I was so pissed that I nearly gave up on Pokémon after that.

Found a shiny arbok and killed it in Crystal when I was really young. I did not have any concept of shinies, only knew I found and defeated a gold arbok. Told my father about it, who introduced me to pokemon but he thought I was just making up a childish lie. To this day at the age of 21, I still jokingly mess with him about how he was wrong. Tis a good memory.

First shiny I ever saw was in Ruby, and I didn't have any balls.
The only other Shiny I've run into in the wild without the Shiny Charm was a Pelipper in Moon on Route 15.
