I just played through Alola last year, and there wasn't enough new/altered content to keep me hooked this time around. If I had known GF was going to do this, I would have skipped sun and waited for ultra sun (it did feel a bit more complete than sun.) I only beat the elite four last week, and haven't really bothered with any post game content at this point because getting there was such a chore.
I enjoyed sun, and I probably would have enjoyed ultra sun more if it was new to me. Learned my lesson though, won't be buying a third version unless they do something absolutely game changing with it.
