>>34716356Why? Let's be generous and say every 3 years they pop our 100 new ones (75 new, 25 regional variant or megas or rehashes of old ones). At that rate 100 years from now there will be about 4000 pokemon. They wouldn't even have to remodel them every gen, so basically once every 9-12 years they'd make high quality models then reuse them. Yes, if you scale to infinity, you eventually run into the problem of too many pokemon, but honestly the way SM set it up with "regional pokedex only, bank has national" is probably the new standard and is good enough for all but the most dedicated of autists. I could see this being a problem for VGC where there's 4000 monsters to choose from, but I suspect long before then we'll see the "regional pokedex only" rule go from being first season only to, the entirety of a gen. At that point they're free to cycle in old pokemon as they see fit (imagine a meta without genies).
