Did you ever had any?

I just had one about a 31 IV Aerodactyl card. I was talking about pokemon with my friend, and I said that I had a 31 IV Aerodactyl. He doubted it. So I pulled my Aerodactyl card to show him on his Game Boy.

The Game Boy started making awful noises and glitching, and my friend was accusing me of ruining his Game Boy with hacked pokemon.

When I was little, I once dreamt of a Kabutops that just appeared in the middle of night and slaughtered my family.
Didn't really affect me though, since Kabutops is still one of my faves.

I write down all of my nightmares, so I'll post the relevant ones.

When I was a kid, I had a dream that The Pokemon Movie was in theaters (This was before Mewtwo Strikes Back came out). In the dream, Ash meets an old man that tells him a whole bunch of depressing stuff, like how trying to be something will always result in failure and that death is the only end to pain.

Then, the final pokemon, Dynorect comes. He looked kind of like a crocodile with long legs and an arched back. He kills the old man, kills ash, and then the theater lights go on.

I don't know why, but the dream ends with leaving the theater and going to a deli and ordering cheese. Dreams don't make any sense.

In 2015, I had a dream that Goodra was the star of his own game. It had low resolution graphics and came on cassette tapes. You needed a special system that could play tape games. In the game, Goodra has a knife or a sword (I couldn't tell) and walks to the right. Enemies are a guy with a rifle, a Pokemon trainer, and a naked woman carrying a scythe. The graphics were very low resolution, so you didn't see anything too bad. When you kill an enemy, a red bunch of pixels spills out that's supposed to be the enemy's heart. Goodra opens his mouth really huge and eats them to restore HP.

Dream was cool, but didn't spook me too much. I have a nightmare grading system and gave it a 3/10.

Sometime around 2010, I had nightmare about trying to save a family from a house fire. It was very hot, had trouble breathing (I think it's sleep paralysis or sleep apnea). I'm going through the smoke. It's hard to see. Then, Mew from Pokemon appears in front of me. I think he's here to help or something, until he gives me a roundhouse kick to the face and flies off. When I wake up, my throat is cold and I am extremely angry.

Around 2000, I had a nightmare involving Furby (Furby was one of my worst fears when I was a kid). Furby was in my house and started saying "Me Stupid" a whole much of times. Then, it grew metal arms and started attacking me. Miraculously, I found Pokeballs in my pocket. I summoned a Dratini and a Kingler to go fight Furby. Furby squeezed them both and they dissolved into what looked like sugar. Then, Furby smacked me. I woke up with pain on the right side of my face.

Funny thing, in my Red version, I had Dratini, but didn't train him. I never owned Kingler, though.

Not a bad nightmare, but it did make me mad. Meowth was in my room smoking Cuban cigars. He'd puff smoke into my face and I'd cough. I remember that he said some stuff about "the business", but I don't remember what. All I remember is waking up coughing and short of breath.

I once dreamt I was lost in a cave, I was really scared. Then, Entei appeared and guided me outside. When we finally got out, we looked at the mountains in the horizon and he said to me "Everything is fine now". I felt so peaceful.

Ok, it wasn't that much of a nightmare after all.

Last one, I had this last year.

In the dream, I'm a clown and I can make balloon animals out of condoms. There's a girl who is lusting after me called Sassy-Sexy that follows me around. She tells me that I'm hot, awesome, and that my condom animals are hilarious. Dream is awesome so far.

My act at the circus starts and some guys wheel out a cage that opens up. Out comes a Weepinbell with a voice like Ian McKellen's. He pops all of my condom balloon animals one by one with his razor leafs. I watch in horror as everything I worked toward is ruined in front of me. Then, Sassy-Sexy comes in to screech at him, and Weepinbell opens his mouth real wide and swallows her whole. Weepinbell calls me a crybaby and slaps me with his tongue.

That's when I wake up.

If it was on the field, it completely shut down any deck relying on evolution. It would have been extremely centralizing if not for one of the most popular decks in the format relying heavily on strong non-evolving Pokemon. Plus, the set right after it was released had both a trainer card that could disable Pokemon Powers for a turn and a Pokemon who shuts down trainer cards (Aerodactyl evolved from a trainer card, so it was hard to get on the field once Dark Vileplume was out).

It was great, shut down evolution decks like crazy. You can't even use Breeder to get around it. When I was a kid, I used this guy in my no evolver deck with Hitmonlee and it caught people off guard, couldn't get to Dark Charizard or Dark Blastoise (2 very popular cards at the time), so I'd pick them apart with Hitmonlee and his ability to hit the bench, so you can't even retreat from him.

Pic related also fucked people up back in the day. Fossil was a very strong set for it's time. It also had a good Magmar, Moltres, Ditto, and a Gengar that ended games extremely fast once he was out. Shit was awesome.

Kinda, it was Archeops with a different set up. When Fossil Egg came out, you could get one on your bench on turn one.

But back then, people relyed too much on big basics. It could counter Wigglytuff and Blastoise during the base-fossil era, though.

Is the Pokemon TCG still fun like this?

I played until the ex series was near the end and I found the strategies to be kinda boring (it was always something to do with energy movement buffing stage 3s like Blaziken ex or Dragonite)

I had a dream my entire room was covered in unopened packs of fossil decks. My friend was there and he kept claiming packs before I could open them. I asked "Where are my cards" over and over. Apparently I was thrashing around and talking in my sleep so my parents let me stay home from school

The gen 1 Pokemon TCG meta sounds a lot more fun on paper than it actually was. Nearly every match boiled down to who had to throw away less good trainer cards during the hyper fast "draw 20 cards a turn" first couple turns.

When I was younger I made a regice from polymer clay. I thought it was so cool and I did a really great job for a 10 year old. I played with it all day and put it on my dresser before bed. That very night I had a nightmare of a 2 story regice following me in the dark. I couldn't get away no after how fast I ran. I shit you not, I woke up the next morning and threw that fucking figure in the dumpster outside.

The only important thing to note is the Pokémon Power. Even for its time, it was weak in every other aspect.

I'm sure this would see play on the current meta if it was reprinted as it is.

I had a nightmare when I was a kid about a battle where a Ratticate got slices in half by a Vine Whip or Razor Leaf, can’t remember exactly which. There was a fat hiker-ish dude as one of the trainers and it was in a wrestling ring of some kind.
