I did so in gen 3. I still remember it, I was going through that rainy route before the weather center that you get Castform. It was a Zigzagoon that I caught.

Luckily I already knew about it thanks to magazines so I boxed the Zig.

I hate how pokerus is way rarer than shinies and yet i got it legitimately (no wt, gts, trades etc) in platinum, black, x and moon while the only shinies i randomly found are geodude(selfdestructed) and spinda in ruby(lost cartridge)

I randomly got Pokerus at the start of my Ultra Moon playthrough. I honestly think they altered the odds, because I've seen a lot other people also saying they got their first Pokerus in USUM
