When you think about it, why do so many people keep buying these games? BotW and Odyssey were hailed as masterpieces, but they each only sold about 6 million and 5 million respectively. I know it's a different console and a different install base, and maybe the gross is a bit closer to where Pokemon's at, but still.

People keep buying these games because it's Pokemon. Simply because it's Pokemon. That's always going to be the biggest and most common answer. It's just one of the natures/curses of Poekmon.
