I succeeded by leading with Magnezone and paralyzing it, then just sending out my entire team to whittle it down to nothing. I had to use some revives but it eventually ran out of PP for its most damaging moves

I used Encore to lock Necrozma into Photon Geyser as I switched from Gengar to Whimsicott with a Focus Sash, then Darkest Lariated it out with Incineroar.

I really don’t remember having any trouble with Necrozma. I took it out the first time I fought it and only got tripped up because I thought I was supposed to catch it.

Without the use of Roto Boosts she's a sitting duck. Use two and you can OHKO with a critical hit Moonblast.

Eh... Would say yes. But I think it's a bit to frail to live a hit from Ultra Necrozma.

Same with Primarina but probably a bit more difficult to pull off. Give him Roto Boosts and you might have a chance.

The damage is not that different, but Primarina has a much better chance of actually tanking a hit.

You are aware that U-Necro has smart strike, right. It's literally a guaranteed KO on prima. But when U-Necro was going up against Decidueye it always uses Photon Geyser. But Decidueye can survive that sometimes. Only depending on the nature. And as long as he's level 60 or above he can tank it. Because mins did on the first try and it wasn't even the happiness that saved him.

You do realise that Smart Strike is neutral on Primarina, right CRA? Photon Geyser actually does more damage on Primarina and if it, the one with actual special bulk, can't survive that move then the owl has no chance.

Water resists Steel so Smart Strike is neutral. Primarina only has three weaknesses, they are Grass, Electric and Poison.

My calcs were based on level 55 starters, if you're already at level 60 at that point and your Decidueye can take a hit, then it's probably better. Otherwise Primarina has more chances of doing something.

Depends what kind of opponent you were against in XY. Some levels of trainer AI have them seemingly just use random moves so it may have been that.

It starts the fight with a Rotom Boost basically, bonus to all stats. Toxic/Protect will gimp it, even Super Fang does.

Pretty much any steel type will destroy Necrozma.

Steel resists all 4 of his attacks, making it a joke.

Alternatively you can bring a lvl 1 magnemite for the fight that has Sturdy, then teach it Thunderwave and you are good.
