>>34732727>Just finished Shadows of AlmiaWhat the fuck, I've finished it like 20 minutes after you. What a coincidence.
The problem with Ranger games is that you can't really emulate them. The gameplay feels wrong with a pc mouse. And playing it on DS have few problems as well.
If you want to discuss the games then I can share my opinion about them. Both the original Ranger and Shadows of Almia are great.
The first game has better characters. Rangers feel more grounded and real in this one. Go Rock-Squad is alright, I liked it more than Dim Sun. The antagonist's motivation was kinda surprising. Also, I prefer original's "combat". It actually made me think more and Poke Assists were much more satisfying. My main problem with the game is how linear it is and how unimportant random citizens feel.
Shadows of Almia has better region. It's bigger and more varied. Character progression was greatly improved as well. You get more Styler's improvements and you level up quite fast. The invention of quests make random NPCs better. Additional field moves are great. My main gripe with this one is its length. It started to drag in the last quarter of the story (which was too predictable btw). Also, Shadows of Almia didn't fix how linear the gameplay was. And the last thing - I like that they added more Pokemon but a lot of them have the same moves and, to be honest, feel like they were copied.
