>>34744297>get your dark=absence of light meme outta hereWell, it could not be entirely wrong to think of this.
If you wanna go with logical thinking on why Bug>Dark: The Dark-type is represented from traits that are considered feral and untameable, specifically that born from adverse and intense complex social conditions, to that of traits that evoke a negative leaning nature, from having a nocturnal day cycle, exhibitions of unusually cruel, crafty, and clever intelligence, belligerent aggressiveness, the sentient awareness and choice to harm or inflict ill will, and to that of the negative end of nature and reality, such as the shadows, declination, "the survival of the fittest", destruction, comings of darker times, and to the unknown but potentially dangerous aspects of the mysterious and enigmatic.
As you can see, dark types in the Pokemon world are also represented by the abscene of light that you mentioned .
Pokemon that further prove this are Umbreon, A-Rattata.
Umbreon because it evolves at night time and A-Rattata because of it's natural predators Yungoose and Gumshoos, they were forced to have a nocturnal schedule because their predators are strictly diurnal.
But if you wanna go in a more balanced thinking
is becaue dark types only had one weakness and bugs were SE against only one type, so they made Bug>Dark to balance them out.
