Hell, it's even an issue amongst conventional flying types. Aerodactyl's best option is Wing Attack, Unfezant doesn't get Drill Peck, Brave Bird or Acrobatics so is typically forced to run Sky Attack or Wing Attack

They just need a 75 BP physical flying attack that they can give to random shit

I feel like Gyarados and Mega-Gyarados being different types is a good thing.
Water/Flying and Water/Dark have a surprisingly different slew of resists and weaknesses.

majority of mons that won VGC won because it was a closed dex format where more than half the natdex was banned.
ie arcanine was only good in 2017 because lando was banned.

Arcanine had its unique niche in that meta, being part of a core that neutered itself. There were other fire types, but none of them as good as Arcanine.
