So what will the next regional theme be in the next game?

So far we've had Japan in Kanto, Hawaii, New York City, Italy, Germany (I think), and more I just can't remember. Was Ruby and Emerald themed at all?

First 4 gens were all regions of japan. Unova was NYC, Kalos was paris, and alola was hawaii. I think the next region should be based on scandinavia (denmark, norway, sweden, finland) or spain.

Wouldn't mind a return to Japanese regions honestly. Or, like, Canada in a region directly north of Unova. And maybe the League is in a cave behind Niagara Falls. Honestly, whatever has the coolest geography, I want that to be the next region.

Instead of focusing so hard on trying to make locales that are more or less the same as their real life counterparts, they should focus more on making something whimsical and fantastic. You know, cool-looking locations like those electric caves in Black/White, but outside. If the world has all these strange creatures living in it, it wouldn't hurt to have some really out-there biomes to match.
