>>34752824Literally the only pokemon that run poison over steel are pokemon with a Poison Stab, or pokemon that don't get a steel move. Tapu Bulu isn't big enough cheese to warrant it. Bug can use the extra SE, doesn't have the same defensive or utility niche poison has, and is both widespread enough and useful enough that it can actually compete with Steel, thus bringing Steel out of its current level of prominence, thus indirectly buffing poison.
Buffing bug literally helps poison more than it hurts it by being a better option offensively, since there are probably only a few pokemon that get Bug and Poison, but not Steel, and already only pokemon with Stab pick it if they have the choice, which won't change.
