Hell, if somebody said Hoopa was a kami, I'd correct them and say it is actually a genie/djinn. If people said Cobalion is a samurai or a viking, I'd correct them. It's not a matter of being Japanese. It's a matter of which is the most correct source of a Pokemon's existence.

>>34751851No, they're not. Different religions. Different cultural origins. Kami are Shinto gods that have dominion over a specific phenomenon, such as Fujin's wind. Djinn are Middle Eastern/Arabian spirits that can interact with people and the physical world.
Saying djinn and kami are the same is like saying a Christian deity is the same as a Hindu deity. Is Jesus the same as Vishnu? Think again before you respond.
